That's the case for an occasional fast.

I did the one day fast w/ water. It was fine I guess, better w/out much physical activity.
I lost about 5 pounds from that day. It's stayed off too. I guess the body did burn some stored up stash.,
I ate the night before at 6pm, and then didn't eat again until around 6pm the next day.
But it doesn't have to be 24 hours, it could be just some hunger sometimes.
Its easy. No one even knows what real hunger feels like.
There are many levels of empty, and most of them don't hurt.
Instead, we go day to day feeding ourselves like crazy.

I like the fasting idea to one extent or another, because I'm descended from cavemen.

They, no doubt, would go w/out eating every once in a while.
So, now, like 30 thousand years later, or whatever, my stomach is also made to w/stand occasional fasting.

What my ancestral body isn't made for, what's not natural,
is that I eat every day, completely regular, even over-eating, hardly ever under-eating.

I add this to the list of ways we all get cancer. Feeding and feeding and feeding our cells, even the bad ones.
Just another unnatural thing we do.

It's been shown, I believe its conclusive, eating all the time isn't good for you.
Just like cars, we mix our fuel w/ oxygen.
We are especially adapted to deal w/ oxygen because we came about on the planet when it was full of it.
But oxygen is a corrosive, the good plants breathe it out as a waste product. The dinosaurs would have little to do w/ it.
It causes rust in our cars, and oxidation in our cells. Little black holes in all of our tissues. Everyone has them and they get more numerous w/ age.

We need oxygen, but we could live longer w/ less of it. That's the case for an occasional fast.
